Billy Meyer is the Founder and CEO of Texas Aero and First Texas Capital, bringing nearly four decades of leadership in aircraft sales, finance, and operations. Since entering the aviation industry in 1987, he has built a reputation as one of the most consistent and respected aircraft dealers in the market, regularly ranking among the top five inventory dealers over the past 35 years.

Billy is the Founder of the Global Aircraft Dealers Associtaion (GLADA) and now serves as Chairman Emeritus, reflecting his long-standing commitment to professional standards and integrity within the aircraft sales industry. Throughout his career, he has been deeply involved not only in transactions, but in shaping the broader general aviation marketplace.

In addition to aircraft sales and brokerage, Billy has owned and operated Fixed Base Operations (FBOs) for more than 37 years, providing him with firsthand operational insight into aircraft ownership. As a pilot, he holds nine type ratings and has accumulated more than 7,000 hours of jet flight time—experience that informs his practical, performance-based approach to aircraft evaluation, safety, and long-term asset stewardship.

Through First Texas Capital, Billy expanded his aviation footprint into aircraft finance, including the acquisition of one of the largest private jet loan portfolios from Key Bank. This integration of sales, operations, and lending expertise allows him to approach each transaction with a comprehensive understanding of both market dynamics and capital structure.

Before and alongside his aviation career, Billy was a professional NHRA drag racer and is a member of the NHRA Drag Racing Hall of Fame. Competing at the highest levels of motorsports required discipline, risk management, mechanical understanding, and decisive execution—principles that continue to shape his approach to aviation transactions, operational oversight, and strategic decision-making today.
